Kindness

It doesn’t take a whole lot,

to put a kindness out each day.

To help a friend in trouble,

and send them on their way.

To notice what’s occurring,

by opening up  your eyes.

To do a little something special,

give someone a surprise.

It doesn’t take much time at all,

to smile a little more.

With your hat and coat,

to put your smile on at the door.

To brighten up anothers day,

really takes no time at all.

Before going to a party,

give that lonely friend a call.

It doesn’t cost to give out love,

you’ll get it back for sure.

The more you give the more you get,

there is always plenty more.

And if you are ever feeling lonely,

or ever really blue.

You’ll be amazed how much love,

is given back to you.

Tree – DP

If you compare yourself to the tree,

so slender, strong and straight.

The tree does not express his strength,

in attempting to dominate.

He does not crush those weaker than him,

he cannot chase you off.

Just holds out those magnificent arms,

those branches he holds aloft.

Take a tree in a community,

who does not utter any words.

Not undertaking many deeds,

just as a shelter for the birds.

His roots are deep and solid,

no way he’ll be pushed about.

Remaining strong and silent

not pushing opinion out.

He gains the praise of nature

with a strength that’s so assured.

With a mightiness and perfection,

by following natures laws

It Takes Daring…

img_2511

It takes some daring, to look at yourself,

clearly, no holds barred.

See the picture others see,

the brightness and the scars.

Inspect ourselves with a critical eye,

not missing anything out.

Stopping where we need to stop,

in attempt to work it out.

It takes some daring, to stand naked,

unprotected from all eyes.

Without the shrouds that cover us,

mistakes and all the lies.

To look beyond the physical self,

look deep into the soul.

See that we’ve not always been,

as focused on the goal.

It takes some daring, to really listen,

to hear what others hear.

Not muffled by our egos,

but hearing loud and clear.

To listen to our mistakes,

to hear what we got wrong.

It’s so much easier to think about,

the future paths we’re on.

Breakthrough – DP

img_2577

I’m waking up, I’m breaking through

I’ve reached this place with courage.

Not got straight in on a privilege pass,

or jumping on a special carriage.

The path has been so rough at times,

I’ve needed loved ones near.

The breakthrough came for me in time,

sure wasn’t always very clear.

But I’ve got up to the half way point,

now I’m needing to solider on.

Because those lessons never end,

they just go on and on.

Sold to the Elephant

Yesterday was interesting, not my normal sort of day at all.  A neighbour, who I happen to love asked me if I would help him in a business meeting as a scribe for the day.  I had plenty to do, but I agreed because I love him.  I’ve told you about him before, my wonderful homeopath who gave me the butterfly remedy and helped me to fly.  Anyway he also makes shampoos, along with a range of hair products that give volume for those of us that need it.  It’s called Swell and it is honestly amazing!

Well, it was an interesting meeting yesterday, I got a lot out of it, I love sales and marketing.  I find it interesting because I think that life revolves around sales in a way.  We sell all the time, ourselves, an idea, a way of life, our passions and beliefs, it doesn’t have to cost money but it does involve give and take. Relationships are sales in a sort of way as we present ourselves to others, we lay our stalls out and they see if there is anything there of fancy.

I started my career in retail sales and moved over to the care field, instead of selling fine cashmere and silk I now help others see how to move on in life, overcome obstacles and reach their potential.  This cannot be done without being able to paint a picture of a better future, I have to sell the idea for them to believe it possible.  Training is sales, you have to get others to understand the concept and how it will work to achieve a goal.  In building a business or a person we have to find the core values and work from there.

Anyway back to the meeting,  my friend is in partnership with a very good hairdresser, he has worked in the West End for years, has an excellent reputation and has made a tidy sum with a pair of scissors.  I had obviously washed my hair for the occasion of course, you would wouldn’t you, but immediately felt that it looked terrible, particularly on a day that would be focussed on volume.  I joked on the way to the meeting room that I could do with him giving my hair some attention one day.  He responded by saying, ‘I wish you would, I think it every time I see you’.  Oh my god, I know he was joking but I hadn’t realised it looked that bad!

Later that afternoon the hairdresser, was unconsciously looking at me when he was talking about giving volume to fine, limp and thinning hair.  I interrupted and jokingly asked why he was looking at me while talking about this sort of hair,  he laughed and made the excuse that he was reading the flip chart behind me.  The marketing  chap leading the meeting pretended to tick his pad saying, ‘Well that’s the elephant in the room taken care of!’

Swell honestly is brilliant, particularly for those women like me with thin, flyaway hair.  It does create volume, it is a professional product but also affordable.  I’m going back to Swell today, I’m going to use the three step system, cleans, nourish and hydrate and I’m going to have  fabulous, hair with amazing volume.  And another thing,  I’m certainly taking up that offer of a haircut!  I must say it’s a bloody good job I love these people.

Do me a favour, if this interests you and like me you make an order, tell them you heard about it from an elephant  😉

Nature Lessons 38

Through our communications we are able to instill love and kindness.  Watch and be present in all forms of communication as it does not come with words alone, listen to the world around you, give time to others and watch as the colours of the universe blend with your actions.

Nature Lessons 37

A rose is more than just a flower, it’s a beautiful perfume that follows us around and stays with us. It’s confetti for a bride and a carpet of petals on the ground.  A rose is a gift or love, a welcome and a goodbye and a beautiful memory to cherish.  May your own spirit grow into the world like the spirit of a rose.

Drowning in Dreams

Dreaming is on my mind at the moment, I’m drowning in dreams. Not drowning in the physical sense but immersed in the detail. My dreams are magnificent and confusing at the same time, they lift me up high and leave me feeling desolate and out of touch.

I’m a big ball of emotion so it makes sense my dreams would reflect this. There is lots of water in my dreams, still and powerful, rough and deep, waves crash against land as if trying to destroy  it. I am the land and the water is my emotions I would imagine.

I dream in colour, beautiful colour that dive into and become.  Colours also represent my moods and I bring the colours back to my waking state. Morning moods are representations of my dreams. It can take me a while to adjust to the day.

I dream of big houses, mansions and temples with many rooms. Ceilings that never end and lead to somewhere out of reach. I think I am exploring my mind, chamber by chamber.  The water I spoke of is always around the walls or I cross it to get inside.

The people I love visit my dreams, those no longer here and those I’ve lost touch with. We don’t necessarily talk but we understand each other, we speak with our minds or telepathically. I don’t feel my mouth moving but I look out of my eyes I think, I don’t see myself but I feel myself.

I learn things in dreams that I find to be true when I’m awake.  Some things don’t make sense to me immediately but might later.  I’m fascinated by my dreams at the moment, the in between is my waking hours. I so look forward to going to bed at the moment, I’m finding it’s a festival of discovery.

Creativity ?

Creativity is wonderful and something in which we can immerse ourselves.  When we create something, we also create something else inside, joy, fulfilment and a bright light that cannot be put out.

Writing, painting, dancing, music can all bring a deep and wonderful feeling of joy and contentment.  When we sit back alone at the end of the day and look fondly at something we have created and find happiness in that, despite no one else seeing or experiencing it, that is real creativity.  Like a mother looking at her child and knowing she has created something truly special.

We create first and foremost for ourselves and the feeling it gives us to immerse ourselves and dance with our creative minds.  We might share what we produce with friends and family, who are happy that we have found a creative outlet, enjoy and admire what they see.  That they find enjoyment in our work will of course make us happy but that is not the reason we create.

When we share our work further afield for example through our blogs, we are at risk of getting caught up in producing something for others, will they like what we have done, how can we adapt it so everyone will like it.  Is the end product still the same when we share it universally as it would be if we kept it to ourselves.

Is it then really our work or the work we do for others, is this how we loose our creative spark?  Will we find as much joy as in the reward of our own creations when we think first how others will interpret, see experience.  Is this really creativity as its natural state?

I have been pondering on this, so I thought I would get it out and see what you think.  I’m interested in the thoughts of my friends this community.  Of course if you don’t respond I will know that my piece on creativity is rubbish 😉
