Courage

Courage and strength come with perserverence.

Finding these qualities comes through our endurance.

We go through life constantly coming up against difficulties, find ourselves in situations where we need to gather all our strength to succeed, achieve or reach our goal.  Life has a way of presenting these obstacles just at a time we don’t need them.

We endure these periods by going within and somehow finding the strength to continue, for however long it takes and sometime this might be years.  Through our ability to find this strength in times of need, however hard it appears to be at the times, we develop an inward strength, one that will see us through our lives, strengthen our spirit and see us along the way.

Courage is developed in the hard knock school of life.  It is a quality that comes through the  experience and endurance of pain.  It is gained through love that is not returned but still given out, it is gained through loneliness, poverty, grief and loss. Courage is gained in a multitude of ways but it builds us and makes us into the people we are today.

Courage strengthens the spirit and when we strengthen our spirit we are more able to live as our true selves, not afraid of what others think of us, happy to accept criticism but  at the same time be able to speak our own truth.  We are no longer sheep and if necessary we can stand firm and face any opposition.

So whatever lessons are ahead of us we have to see them as such and know we can endure them and strengthen our spirits and become better, stronger, people.

Nature Lessons 34

If you are blessed with good family and friends, no matter how far away they are or how often you get to speak, treasure them.  These are the people who carry you through life and make the more difficult times easier to bare.  Life passes in an instant, let those you love know you are grateful for their love and friendship.

If we live…

img_2656

If we live simply with purity and love,

that which opens doorways to light above.

We will live a life that’s full, as love returns it is life’s rule.

If we hold onto our inward soul,

through all journey’s and where life goes.

We will travel with our friends, who stay until the journey ends

If we allow nature to inspire the man,

dance truly with it’s beauty when we can.

We will be sheltered from any storms, a life of joy as we transform.

If we live with wonder and joy like a child,

with a gentleness, using words that are mild.

We will experience a life of discovery, there’ll be no need for recovery

If we allow others to just be,

love and laugh but not disagree.

We will live a life of richness, free from stress and hopefully sickness.

Added the last line on what I was writing to fit with the daily word prompt – Disagree 😉

Love as a Child

img_2642

Love like a child with wonder and amazement,

not with expectation, nor to make a statement.

Love with wild abandon, love without conditions,

not through any greed or of gaining acquisitions.

Love with a gentle kindness, hope and charity,

as love is a revelation, that many will not see.

Love with a simplicity, with honesty that is true.

with passion in happiness and passion when blue.

Love with a purity, with a gentleness that’s light.

Love with all you feel, love with all your might.

Charity

The beauty of unselfish love and loving ourselves, is that it provides us freedom. When we cast away the ties of selfishness we grow, our spirit expands and we find clarity in our thinking.  Giving from the generosity of our own hearts, not because it is expected or demanded but because we want to is a kindness, not only to others but to ourselves and leads to spiritual growth.

People have always hoarded money, treasure and art, more than they would ever need in a lifetime.  It is not charitable share your wealth after your death, what else could you possibly do with it as you cannot take it with you.  A fear of being without, flames the fires of selfishness.  I find it sad but at the same time recognise the fear of being without.

In ancient times charity was encouraged, insisted upon in the form of a Levy, whereby a certain amount of each mans wealth was given to the poor and needy.  This was necessary as the wealthy would not give from the generosity of their own hearts. They did not give because they loved their treasure, they were blinded by their need to amass wealth and relished in the status this gave.  They did not see the suffering of the poor because they were blinded by their own self interest and therefore did not think of others in any way as material wealth was the priority of the day.

A Festival of Giving was established by priests which is how, what we know of today as our own Harvest Festival came about.  The rich generously donated part of their harvest and wealth to the poor.  The rich gave because of the expectation, not because of willingness or generosity and this was a painful sacrifice to many of them.  Did this help their souls, that they had to feel the pain caused by sacrifice, well maybe but I doubt it helped them with any kind of real spiritual growth or understanding.

I do think the world has moved on, spirituality and kindness is more prevalent in todays world and people give to others more easily as we look outside of ourselves and see those in need.  We have reached a point of greater understanding, the concept that we are all part of the same, all walking the same path and the recognition of the development of the human soul has been recognised and is growing in todays world.

When we grow spiritually we understand the importance of giving, sharing and loving.  We reach out to others and heal, we listen, give time, patience and encouragement to those in need.  This is true spiritual charity and when we give of ourselves in this way we are replenished.  When we give love, loves grows within us, when we heal we are in turn healed ourselves.  To be spiritual we have to put the needs of others along side our own needs.

Charity is not all about giving material wealth but if you have it, or more than you need give it to someone in need.  I would rather eat less and give some away than keep it all to myself.  But charity is more than that, charity is giving of ourselves for a greater good.  Charity is love of others, to be charitable means to love others as much as you love yourself.

Clearing the Mind

img_2505

It’s a bit like clearing spiders webs,

when trying to clear my mind

With random thoughts suspended,

on trails I left behind

Venture through dark passages,

wade murky depths as well

To chase the monsters lurking there,

not a place to dwell

I’m searching for a crystal pool,

it’s so calm and very still

 Casting to catch inspiration,

link intention and free will

Paint a picture in the font,

then bring it home with me

Splash it high on skies above,

so that I can’t help but see

My quest to sort my mind out,

might take me many years.

With a range of wild emotions,

glued together with my tears

Crossing Dimensions

img_2457

I‘m going to walk in another dimension, one we cannot see

spend a while and think a bit, about who I’m supposed to be

I want to ask some questions, those too big to ask right here

I don’t believe in all I’m told, things aren’t how they appear

.

Our brains are wired as human,  our reality, what we’re told

But surely these old fangled tales, are honestly quite old

I’ll take some time, not leap right in, I’ll listen carefully

Find my answer on what feels right, what is true to me.

.

I hope to share what I learn, with those that want to hear

I’m not promising I’ll be right, I’ll need to make this clear

I’m putting on my walking shoes, heading out the door

Dimensions I will travel now, but I’ll soon be back for sure.
