Across Forever

I’d dash across forever,

if it meant I could be with you.

Ride the wildest rapids,

in the seas of the deepest blue.

Climb the highest peek,

if I only I could find you there.

Sit upon an eagles back,

while soaring without a care.

I’d dash across forever,

to just once more see your face.

Only for a moment in time,

I would really go to any place.

Wouldn’t need to pack much,

as possessions are no good.

Be with you once more again,

just if only we really could.

I Won’t Dash

No I won’t dash to get there,

I will savour everyday.

Walk slowly through my life,

listen to what it will say.

Be present in each moment,

I won’t let time slip by.

Even those nasty challenges,

I’ll do my best and try.

No I won’t dash to get there,

watch and wait my turn.

With so much to experience,

so much here to learn.

I’ll keep my eyes wide open,

to see what there is to see.

Listen to mother nature,

to know what it is to just be.

A Dash

A dash can be so many things,

like places we dash between,

or just in the dash of a moment,

space between our dreams.

Dashing ahead for the future,

while covering up all the past,

a word crossed out on paper,

love that was meant to last.

Feeling a dash of excitement,

at the start of something new,

while bubbling to the surface,

from right deep inside of you.

A dash between the years too,

from our birth until our death,

the little dash not saying much,

lets put our friends to the test.

A dash of darkness in the sky,

or the sunshine poking through,

both of these are dashes you see,

when we can’t see only blue.

I’ll take a dash of sugar please,

if I’m tired and fighting sleep,

and dash is almost impossible,

if the hill in front is too steep.

See the dash is quite universal,

used for happiness and strife,

just don’t use it on the pathway,

as you travel through your life.

Passenger

I hate to be a passenger,

to me it is so very wrong.

It’s so absolutely boring,

the road goes on and on.

I’d prefer to be the driver,

I have something to do.

Unless I want a drink or two,

I’ll give the keys to you.

~

I’m okay on an airplane,

I don’t have a pilots skills.

I wouldn’t want to fly,

I don’t have wings and bill.

I like to see a road sign,

I can’t see them up in the sky.

So much traffic up there,

you have to ask yourself why.

~

I’m okay being carried,

when I’m tired and worn out.

Lift me up into your arms,

I’ll come don’t ever doubt.

I’ll close my eyes and hold on,

I’ll whisper in your ear.

I’d always be your passenger,

don’t drop me, is that clear.

Turn Down the Volume

Turn down the volume,

take a while on your own.

Be at one with the stillness,

to find your way home.

To a place of completeness,

at one with what’s true.

It’s while in this silence,

you’ll discover who’s you.

Turn down the volume,

really listen to what’s said.

Not in any real language,

never heard in your head.

Vibrations you’ll tune into,

if your frequencies right.

From a place in the centre,

in the brightest of lights.

1000 Posts!

I’ve made a thousand posts,

on skies are grey.

Usually one post at least,

but I try every day.

Quite regularly I might

take a weekend away,

it worries me then

if my followers will stray.

But I’ve stuck to the plan,

I write on my blog.

I get lost in my writing,

it’s not a hard slog.

Sometimes it’s just pros,

some poetry too.

I just love showing,

photography to you.

So thank you for following,

as this keeps me going.

I know that you do this,

in my stats it is showing.

I’m excited to be here,

at one thousand at last.

On to the next badge now,

I’m a blogger at last!

A silly poem to celebrate my achievement, but seriously, thanks for following 🙂

Natty

He told me I was a ‘natty‘ dresser,

I had not a clue what he meant.

I hoped that it was something good,

as a man he was so heaven sent.

I considered if it meant crazy,

was he taking the ‘mick’ out of me.

Maybe when I looked in the mirror,

I didn’t see what he could see.

But I graciously said thank you,

with my fingerless crossed so tight.

I hoped that he might ask me out,

that he really felt I was alright.

After the Storm

After the rain had fallen it’s last,

the clouds now empty will stray.

Like challenges that come and pass,

we too can now start a new day.

As the sun shows it’s warmest face,

lighting up what was once dark.

As brightness after challenges will,

though it might leave it’s mark.

As flowers often still hang their heads,

as wet from the gales of the night.

It might take us a while to get up again,

to fully get over each plight.

Then like a bee we bravely emerge,

trusting that things might be calm.

Looking back at the past as it fades,

so thankful we came to no harm.

After our storm has done it’s worst,

warmth will enter our lives again.

It’s the same with a rainy season,

the sun will come out after rain.

The rawness of each emotion we feel,

soothed as the storm passes on.

Standing up tall despite the past,

for our lives will still move along.

We retrieve the hopefulness we lost,

and we start to pick up our pace.

Oh the storms will come and go in life,

it’s a fact that we all have to face.
