Tides of Change

img_3389

I’m going through a difficult phase in life at the moment, you might or might not have noticed, but this influences what I write.  The structures around me are falling away, the tides are changing  as is what I once trusted and my priorities, I’m changing from the inside out.  But I retain hope, I believe there is something out there just waiting for me to discover it.

I know this change is the culmination of a number of difficult years where my experience of grief and loss led me to a point of reevaluation.  I’m not the same person I was five years ago, not even the same person I was a couple of days ago.  Things are moving fast for me now, I’m changing by the moment.  It’s an anxious time, but I’m trying to breath through it, hold onto my beliefs that everything is as it should be.  I’ve been here before and I did make it before just as I will again, that it’s a little harder this time is just evolution.

I believe life only gives us what we can manage, and although I’m not always sure at the time I will manage I have incredible resilience.  I have wonderful friends and family who provide the support network I need.  Some friends, I’ve begun to realise, are not what I once thought, but others feed my soul.  Bloggers I’ve met on here have been so supportive, I hope that I am also able to help in the same way, I try to inspire just as I’m inspired by you.

I’ve discovered nature, I have a deeper connection somehow through looking at the messages nature gives me.  I share these as I hope the messages might mean something to others.  Colours are brighter, feelings more intense, everything is changing but I think it must be for the better.

Nature tells me everything is going to be alright, the world will go on spinning.  Seasons will come and go and in some way there will be an impact on the environment, land will change shape, cliffs will erode, rivers will dry up or widen but they will continue to lead to the sea. Life in all it’s glory will continue as it should.

Nature Lessons 96

A flower might get burnt by the elements, weather conditions such as wind, sun, rain and frost may cause it damage dependant on where it is planted and what challenges life presents it with.  We can also get burnt in life on occasion just like the flower, but like the flower, it does not always mean the end.  We can continue to stretch ourselves out and grow, we have at our disposal the power and strength of spirit to do this.  Ultimately those difficult episodes in life can act as a blessing, if we can just gather ourselves up, treasure and focus on what we have left.

Nature Lessons 95

Some days it’s okay to give in and admit you might a little broken or weary.  It might be you are sad, tired, sick, or just not able to be as strong as you usually can.  It is quite natural to take time out, look at the tree or a flower after a storm.  Life knocks us about sometimes, we need to take care of ourselves, acknowledge our feelings, cry if we need to and give ourselves time to mend. Like the flower with its head bent, be good to yourself today, knowing you will lift your head  again tomorrow.

Time

We’re told time is of the essence, a fact the whole world knows.

We read the time the same old way, as those days so long ago.

Time’s still measured by the hour, which is sixty minutes long.

Once the hands go round the clock, you know your hour’s gone.

Time here on earth has great control, as it measures everything.

From the minute the bank opens, to how long he might be king.

It can be seen in days and years, a number we spend on the earth.

Counted up on that final day, since the very moment of our birth.

They say that time is all we have and one day it will be to late.

As time runs out on earth too quick, each of us have this fate.

Just a blink and the day has gone, I really don’t know where it goes.

Time is quite extraordinary, in that it always seams to go.

But what if time is all made up, just an idea made of man.

What if there was no such thing, since all of life began.

What if it all happens now, or maybe in some parallel.

From birth and through to dying, honestly who could tell.

What if we turn off the clocks, or simply turn them back.

Would the world stop spinning, would that be the end of that.

What if we just thought of now, for us to get things done.

With no time to worry us, would it be so much more fun.

What if we could travel back, or forward just the same.

Make amends and put things right, even wipe out any pain.

If everything just happens now, and not in some place else .

Wouldn’t now just be space, to make the most of ourselves.

Nature Lessons 92

If we could look back on the path we have taken to reach this point, how many of us would fully understand our life stories, are we not just products of our experiences? If we are to fully understand ourselves and move forward, it is helpful to look the events that brought us to this point.  As an observer, stand a little to the side and play out those scenes.  What did we learn from those difficult episodes, what do we understand now and how can we care for ourselves moving on?

Nature Lessons 91

Even on the bleakest winters day the sun still rises each day, birds continue to call in the dawn and nature unfolds as it should.  There is a beauty in the stillness of winter just as there is during difficult episodes in our own lives if we look for them.  Find the beauty around you, find it in silence, find it in hope and find it natures messages.
