From the Heart
When we only look at the external we are not really seeing the true being.
Look at the flower, beautiful as it’s bloom may be, it cannot stand without the roots, the love that flows through the stem and leaves that balance.
We are more than just the face, the body around us, we are what runs within, holds us up and everything that has ever happened to us.

You were savage in your approach to me,
but I can see now why you came.
In the cruel, punishing and hurtful place,
I experienced incredible pain.
And all of those things I thought so real,
material things and the like.
Stripped me bare so I lost my way out,
I travelled the darkest night.
I questioned why you came for me then,
I know better now on this side.
You needed to help me see my falseness,
on that awful fairground ride.
Screaming all through that savage year,
I came through knowing myself.
Of all the things you taught me last year,
it was to trust in nobody else.

Joy can be found in natures touch,
immersion will bring a big smile.
Whenever your feeling a little off par,
into nature go spend a while.
Blend yourself with the colours you see,
let textures run under your thumb.
See the patterns and pointers they give,
as in nature you will become one.

I’d live a life far more true.

To reach an understanding of lightness we first need to walk through the tunnel of darkness, only through experiencing the harsh darkness of the tunnel will we truly see the light up ahead.

As each fruit ripens, the branch lets go. As each fruit falls away it makes room for another. Such is the cycle of life, an eternal fruit tree, nourishing, growing and setting free.

A single wave cannot change the sea any more than the weather can change the sky. They remain as they are whatever appears to be happening on the surface, the sky and sea will always be. We are just the same, life brings changes, clouds and ripples to our lives but we remain as we always were.
We are more than the people we think we are, we are as constant as the sea and sky, we are eternal. The things that happen to us, the things we think are important cannot really affect us, they affect the person but not the presence inside, the awareness that is our true nature.
The sun continues to shine behind the clouds, as our light continues even on the darkest of days. The sea moves as one beneath the waves, unaffected by what happens on the surface, as what happens to us each day is on the surface. Deep inside and all around we are greater than what happens. What happens, happens but we continue.
The person we think we are will age, will feel and will eventually die. We are all on the same journey, we are all heading towards death as the wave that crashes to the shore and is no more. Only then will we discover the true self that is constant, eternal as the sea and sky, only then will we understand the dream of life.
Whatever happens, know it will not change you, the real and constant being, it is just a ripple, a cloud, nothing more.

That a flower comes from dry cracked earth doesn’t matter, it still blooms. Where we come from shouldn’t matter, it’s where we are going that’s important. Let those cracks you grow from fill with the moisture to feed your emotions so that you might grow into the most spectacular flower.
