Vanish #2

With the snuffing of the candle,

darkness walks into the room.

A fine crack in the doorframe,

permits the misty gloom.

A figure lingers in the void,

not known upon this earth.

It’s sucking in all happiness,

any joyfulness and mirth.

A wail’s heard in the distance,

oh such an agonising cry.

All arms and legs are frozen,

can’t move them if we try.

Too late we understand now,

darkness has taken hold.

We should have taken more heed,

of stories that were told.

A witch who returns at Christmas,

after she was banished.

Following any darkness here,

they find the children vanish

As the sun sets over the mountains,

you once again come to my mind.

The days that we spent bound together,

I’m trying hard now not to find.

An excuse for your sudden departure,

I though what we had was the best.

The morning the phone rang unanswered,

another of lives painful tests.

One moment your here then you vanish,

I’m lost for the reason you went.

From the second my eyes laid upon you,

I believed you were heaven sent.

Was it just my crazy imagination,

had I spent to many years on my own.

Are you on the other side of that mountain,

and me I’m just here all alone.

Nature Lessons 103

Like a rose, each one of us is different. We grow in different ways, from different soil and experience.  The choices we make are based on our own interpretation of life, how we see and experience the things around us. Growth is affected by experience and understanding of life events and the individual challenges we face. Each of us has magnificent potential and each of us is beautiful, we just grow in our own way, in our own time.

Venus hanging from the Moon

The other evening I walked around town chasing the moon.  Venus was positioned underneath and it looked like she was hanging from an invisible thread.

I was mesmerised and kept it in sight, trying to get a decent shot on my phone which was more or less impossible.  A sure reminder for me to get a decent camera at some point!

The Most Precious Thing in my Life Is?

I was in a workshop yesterday, I was given a piece of paper with the words ‘The most precious thing in my life is…’ I had to finish this sentence off.  It was off the cuff, I didn’t have time to think about it I just had to stand up and do it.  Well I didn’t have to but I agreed to give it a go.

The most precious thing in my life is…… knowing myself, because only through knowing my true self, can I know anyone or anything else outside of this.  If I find life through my heart, not allowing myself to be led by my mind or ego I can truly connect with life.  My connections will be meaningful, my understanding will be deeper and my view of life outside of myself will be my own, or at least from my heart.

I spoke quite a bit, rambled on maybe, but that was the gist of it.  I’m on a journey of self enquiry, I’m looking for the meaning of life, I’m discovering my purpose and this is very precious to me. There are a lot of precious things in my life, people, memories, nature, writing, but I think they are precious because I connect with them from the heart.

I’m sure our views change daily, dependent on circumstances and emotions but this was how I felt yesterday and today.

Can you answer the question, I would love to hear your views in the comments?

The Invisible Branch

We are born into family, our first attachments here on earth.  We branch out from there into different groups, making friends along the way.  These people we meet, the ones that touch our hearts become our family too.  There is not far we can travel on this earth or beyond where those special relationships do not continue, an invisible branch that holds us with love always.

Nature Lessons 102

Not everything in life is grand, not everything that is of value needs to cost a fortune.  A beautiful life is made up of small moments, precious moments, like those spent with friends and family. These are the treasures to hold onto, the treasures that will last a lifetime.

Treasure

I’m rich in life in so many ways,

and I’m not counting money.

I haven’t got too much of that,

it’s not money that makes you funny.

I’m wealthy when it comes to friends,

the very special kind.

Those that get me without words,

the friends that can read my mind.

I have a treasure trove of memories,

a collection of beautiful things.

A panoply of love and dreams,

No need for armour with wings.

Joy that fills each and every day,

costs nothing but my time.

Time I have for those I love,

that helps make my life sublime.
