Open your hearts to those in need of love, let your heart be the shelter from any storm.

From the Heart

September comes around to fast, it’s back before you know.
When will summer ever last, why does it have to go.
As a child when I was small, years stretched out so long.
I worry now, I take a nap, the summer might be gone.
And so the nights are drawing in, a real nip in the air.
Again you’ll find me by the fire, huddled in my chair.
Winter goes on, oh so slow, for days we’re trapped inside.
Why does the sun and sky so blue, always have to hide.
I think that I’m am very SAD, as I want the sun to stay.
Surely it’s not only me, who mourns as it goes away.

I am just a silly pussy cat, not fierce in any way.
Look I smile if you don’t rile, please don’t go away.
Okay, I know I nip a bit, when you rub my belly.
I can’t be blamed, I’m happy, I think I turn to jelly.
I’m not a tiger, I’m not wild, I’m just a cat you see.
Now pick me up and pet me, or put me on your knee.

Late summer sun, still shining as bright.
The days are shorter, soon comes the night.
You saw us through, with buckets and spades.
Down by the seaside, kids paddle and wade.
Melted the ice creams, warmed fruit to ripen.
You pulled out all stops, our days you did lighten.
Soon you must travel, to Summer’s beyond.
But know when you do, you’ll be missed when gone.

There are many different paths we can take, many different points of view and a multitude of experiences both ahead of us and behind us. But what is certain in life is that we all end up in the same place. We reach a point where we can’t turn any more corners, make any more choices and we have to stop and consider our actions.

I’m an instrument of peace,
in a world that’s so profound.
When I sense anger in this town,
my tasks to turn it around.
A symbolic figurine of peace,
like a feather or a dove.
By the sea where dolphins jump,
I spread the word of love.
I stand upon a golden globe
and hold an olive branch.
An old stone angel asking you,
to give your god a chance.
