From the Heart
Wherever we are heading, however much we need to understand ourselves, there is something about family that is intrinsically linked. We find ourselves in looking outside of ourselves sometimes in those relationships closest to us.

Like the flower, each one of us will reach the point of opening. We might hang back a little, but there comes a point in our lives where we just need to trust that nature knows best and go with what feels natural.

Even on the bleakest winters day the sun still rises each day, birds continue to call in the dawn and nature unfolds as it should. There is a beauty in the stillness of winter just as there is during difficult episodes in our own lives if we look for them. Find the beauty around you, find it in silence, find it in hope and find it natures messages.

It might be just a small weed but it blows freely in the wind spreading itself far and wide. I think that the pleasure it gets from what it gives out maybe far greater than the adoration other flowers might get from their beauty. It doesn’t take an awful lot to leave bits of yourself with those you pass, kindness, happy memories and something to think about. It’s a beautiful thing to touch others with love and kindness as you pass along your way.

We have many different sides to our personalities, we show these different sides of us depending on our relationship and desires. There is the warmth and softness we show to those we love, the fruitfulness we show to attract and pull people in towards us and the more protective front we use to cover up or slip away from those we are not so comfortable with. There are complexities to our individual personality traits, they change with the seasons and are dependant on our needs at any one time. A good thing to bare in mind is that whilst we are displaying one aspect of ourselves, we never know who else might be watching and absorbing what we are putting out from somewhere else in the garden.

It can take us a lifetime to understand the real meaning of love in our lives. For a number of people to find, live in and become love is their very purpose here. Like the foliage on a tree that transforms into a beautiful picture of warmth and love before it dies, we too radiate love out into the world once we know and understand it.

The world, a flower, the moon and sun are all round, like a circle if we draw or visualise them. The petals around the centre of a flower make that circle bigger, from a daisy to a sunflower the circle grows. I believe love is like this, if I could draw love I would draw a circle.

We are all born into groups, from these groups we move into other groups. We become so involved in which group that we are in on occasion we loose ourselves. Sometimes the best we can do is find our own place on the branch

When we are able to connect to ourselves, understand our own workings and sometimes imperfections, we are far more able to connect with others. When we recognise and accept the feelings that are at our very core, allow them to be part of who we are without shame or fear we live in truth. We naturally relate to others and through understanding and compassion our networks widen, we become authentic.

Sometimes we reach our destination later than others. That does not mean it is any less of an achievement or that it does not deserve as much of a celebration. Whatever time we get there, that we did, is something to be celebrated.
