Nature Lessons 108

The tree stands firm with its roots securely attached to the earth. It reaches up with all its branches to the stars, even those branches that bend gently towards the earth, started their journey facing the sky. Blossoms fly from branches painting the world, fruits provide goodness and leaves fall like love and kindness to nourish the earth.  The tree throughout its life, continues to reach for the stars. The pattern of the bark and circles within the trunk surly tell us something, but for now I think we should just spread ourselves widely and reach for the stars.

Without Trust

I won’t tell you what’s wrong with me,

as I don’t trust you to care.

You’ll give those standard answers,

the ones you have prepared.

I don’t think I’d tell you anything,

of emotions that run deep.

I know you would not manage well,

it may interrupt your sleep.

You see, I know that it’s all one sided,

and it doesn’t work both ways.

You only want to hear from me,

on the brightest of my days.

When I can give all my time to you,

and treat you like a king.

Hang on to your every word,

meet your every whim.

So we shall go on pretending,

that everything is grand.

It can’t be any other way,

you’ll never understand.

So I won’t tell you why I’m so sad,

I don’t think you want to know.

Our relationships so pointless now,

as it has nowhere else to go.

Life

Nature teaches us there is a time for life, a time for how long things will live, from flowers, to trees there is usually an expectation.  Life is not endless, there is a time to live and a time to die.  Given this, every moment is precious, every day brings new possibilities. Flowers do not close because there is a cloud overhead, so why should we?

Nature Lessons 107

Once the seed of love is sown it grows into something quite magnificent. When we send out love into the world in our actions and thoughts, we are like gardeners. With each seed we sow love flourishes. The garden of love takes but a few seeds and a little care and attention along the way.

Opening the Heart

Each loving or kind thought that touches the heart, opens the heart, just as misery and sadness close the heart.  Even when going through more difficult times, feed the heart with loving thoughts, even if these are only the kindness and love you owe to yourself. Treated with love and kindness the heart will remain open.

The Most Precious Thing in my Life Is?

I was in a workshop yesterday, I was given a piece of paper with the words ‘The most precious thing in my life is…’ I had to finish this sentence off.  It was off the cuff, I didn’t have time to think about it I just had to stand up and do it.  Well I didn’t have to but I agreed to give it a go.

The most precious thing in my life is…… knowing myself, because only through knowing my true self, can I know anyone or anything else outside of this.  If I find life through my heart, not allowing myself to be led by my mind or ego I can truly connect with life.  My connections will be meaningful, my understanding will be deeper and my view of life outside of myself will be my own, or at least from my heart.

I spoke quite a bit, rambled on maybe, but that was the gist of it.  I’m on a journey of self enquiry, I’m looking for the meaning of life, I’m discovering my purpose and this is very precious to me. There are a lot of precious things in my life, people, memories, nature, writing, but I think they are precious because I connect with them from the heart.

I’m sure our views change daily, dependent on circumstances and emotions but this was how I felt yesterday and today.

Can you answer the question, I would love to hear your views in the comments?

Nature Lessons 102

Not everything in life is grand, not everything that is of value needs to cost a fortune.  A beautiful life is made up of small moments, precious moments, like those spent with friends and family. These are the treasures to hold onto, the treasures that will last a lifetime.

Nature Lessons 96

A flower might get burnt by the elements, weather conditions such as wind, sun, rain and frost may cause it damage dependant on where it is planted and what challenges life presents it with.  We can also get burnt in life on occasion just like the flower, but like the flower, it does not always mean the end.  We can continue to stretch ourselves out and grow, we have at our disposal the power and strength of spirit to do this.  Ultimately those difficult episodes in life can act as a blessing, if we can just gather ourselves up, treasure and focus on what we have left.

Nature Lessons 95

Some days it’s okay to give in and admit you might a little broken or weary.  It might be you are sad, tired, sick, or just not able to be as strong as you usually can.  It is quite natural to take time out, look at the tree or a flower after a storm.  Life knocks us about sometimes, we need to take care of ourselves, acknowledge our feelings, cry if we need to and give ourselves time to mend. Like the flower with its head bent, be good to yourself today, knowing you will lift your head  again tomorrow.
