Jingle, Jangle

Necklaces, bracelets, rings and things,

I jingle, jangle in the breeze.

Silver and crystal, antique and new,

ruby red to a bright topaz blue.

A wandering gypsy of previous life,

maybe a princess or a kings wife.

I wear my trinkets, they sing as I sway,

hear me coming and going away.

Jangle

The bells used to jangle as the front door opened, it’s a sound I’ll always remember, a sound that said someone had walked through the door.

The wind chime that hung above the door was one of the last things I took from my mums house after she died. It hangs on my balcony now, rusted from the weather. It doesn’t really jangle anymore, lack of wind on my balcony, I’m not sure, but the jangle of the bells will always remind me of home.

To Write with a Peacocks Quill

To write a poem with a peacocks quill

do you think it would tell a good tale.

With deepest colours of the universe,

although none of these being pale.

Those green hues of Mother Nature,

bright blues that will heal every ill.

The eye of the feather watching on,

with enough parchment I could fill.

And what about my stories message,

would it resonate with everyone.

Would it be about the birds and bees,

or something much more fun.

Perhaps I’d write of love as I do,

so it jumps up and out so you feel.

There’s something about this plan of mine,

to write now with a peacock quill.

Tether

So go tether me up if you want to,

it won’t stop me from flying away.

Leave me out in the wilderness,

I’ll cope and get through the day.

I’m more than just that body see,

I go travelling within my mind.

You think you see me tied up there,

I’m gone, I’ve left myself behind.

I travel seas and mountain tops,

fly through skies of deepest blue.

Sometimes when your sleeping,

I’m there and come close to you.

I’m bigger than the body you see,

won’t fathom it with your mind.

A rope won’t ever tie me down,

you my capturer won’t ever find.

Pluck of the Duck

IMG_6659

So if you really want to eat me,

you will have to catch me first.

I will not make it easy for you,

I’m fast so you’ll work up a thirst.

I’m called duck as I have pluck,

I won’t give up life just like that.

If you really are that inclined,

why don’t you eat your pet cat.

Oh yes, my beak is quite a tool,

I’ll go first for your eyes if I can.

Really I’d think about it my friend,

why don’t you become a vegan.

I can’t quite get my head around the fact that people want to eat these beautiful creatures, life and let live they say, but surely that goes for all. ~

If

If I could just pluck up the courage,

I’d live a life far more true.

If I could just pluck up the courage,

I’d be more honest with you.

If I could just pluck up the courage,

I’d jump off the cliff like a bird.

If I could just pluck up the courage,

I’d shout until I was heard.

If I could just pluck up the courage,

I’d stamp out hate on the earth.

If I could just pluck up the courage,

sometimes I’d put myself first.

If I could just pluck up the courage,

I’d follow a path that is clear.

If I could just pluck up the courage,

I’d keep those promises dear.

If I could just pluck up the courage,

I’d sing to the stars and the moon.

If I could just pluck up the courage,

I really would come into bloom.

And if I ever have enough courage,

I’ll do what I’m destined to do.

When I do have enough courage,

I’ll take you along with me to.

Now that I have enough courage,

I’m making the changes I should.

I really do have enough courage,

to bring to my life all that’s good.

To the Sea

IMG_6554

Oh, to sail and wander the seas

by sailing boat or steam.

Just sailing along on the water,

my life would be a dream.

To bathe with all the sea creatures,

take showers in the rain.

While living the life of a sailor,

going out to sea again.

So pipe me out of the harbours,

send me up to the nest.

Give me a compass in my hand,

as the sea presents its test.

Spotting new land on a horizon,

seeing cliffs as they loom.

Putting a message in my bottle,

right under a silvery moon.

Sail

IMG_6666

If I could sail away from here,

I’d start off heading south.

Right down the winding river,

I’d leave it from the mouth.

I’d venture then to open seas,

deep blue and lovely green.

With little waves that sparkle,

on the top and in between.

If I could sail away from here,

I know I’d go all by myself.

For such a new experience,

I wouldn’t want anyone else.

I’d sail over the finest oceans,

I wish to see all of the seas.

Just bobbing along on the water,

in the warmest ever of breeze.

Across Forever

I’d dash across forever,

if it meant I could be with you.

Ride the wildest rapids,

in the seas of the deepest blue.

Climb the highest peek,

if I only I could find you there.

Sit upon an eagles back,

while soaring without a care.

I’d dash across forever,

to just once more see your face.

Only for a moment in time,

I would really go to any place.

Wouldn’t need to pack much,

as possessions are no good.

Be with you once more again,

just if only we really could.

I Won’t Dash

No I won’t dash to get there,

I will savour everyday.

Walk slowly through my life,

listen to what it will say.

Be present in each moment,

I won’t let time slip by.

Even those nasty challenges,

I’ll do my best and try.

No I won’t dash to get there,

watch and wait my turn.

With so much to experience,

so much here to learn.

I’ll keep my eyes wide open,

to see what there is to see.

Listen to mother nature,

to know what it is to just be.
