From the Heart
I’m on the ball with my instinct,
I rarely get it wrong.
I’ll spot that lie a mile away,
it doesn’t take me long.
Compliments won’t sooth me,
if they’re not for real.
Don’t ask me how I know this,
it’s something that I feel.
Instinct is ingrained you see,
like I’m a little wild.
An intuitiveness about me,
back since a tiny child.
I’ll know if you really love me,
I get it through the air.
Doesn’t matter what you say,
I know if you really care.

To immerse myself in nature
it is the only way.
It will put me back together,
brighten up my day.
Deep into to the forests I go,
or I’ll climb a hill.
Run down to the calling sea,
internal tides it stills.
I find myself in natures arms,
it helps me see again.
Merge and find I have become,
self without a name.

We can approach the world open to experience all it has to offer, or remain closed. Both lives will be lived, there are no absolute rules. Only if we are capable of opening out into the world, it does seem an awful waste not to do so.

However hard we try there is light and shade in each of us, areas that are more in the shadows and in need of uncovering. These shadows are our purpose, these are the areas we need to be focusing on and bringing into the light.

The world that we emerge into is already here, it continues after we leave. We can add beauty and make a difference on our way through, but we are only ever visiting.

However we choose to look at life, it happens. We can look away and pretend it’s not really happening, maybe busy ourselves with the mundane or we can be open to everything it has to offer and bask in the brightness of each and every moment.

To wonder at the symmetry of nature is to find harmony outside of ourselves. What can we learn from the visual patterns we find in the natural world around us, the waves, circles and spirals. Could it be that it all stems from a centre point, the heart centre. Is nature subtly showing us that the heart is where it all begins, being the central place from which everything flows?

Love is an abstract concept,
it’s without a physical form.
Crazy when you think of it,
as love can keep you so warm.
If love had a body or shape,
I’d imagine it to be immense.
But as love is all around us,
that wouldn’t make any sense.

Beauty’s an abstract concept,
but that is just weird to me.
As I thought such a concept,
was something you didn’t see.
But I’ll take it if it’s beautiful,
as beauty I like around me.
I think it’s more than a concept,
it’s something I constantly see.

The awakened one, resides in the same body, functions from the same body and uses the same mind. However there is something different about them, the energy, the nuance of thoughts and the brightness of being. We awaken from wherever we are, we continue to live every day and life unfolds as it should, but we have woken and experience the world through awakened eyes.
