I spread my towel away from folk, I came here in disguise.
Not over keen on being seen with belly fat and thighs.
My company the seagulls, in mass they crowd around.
I’m visiting an empty beach, in a different town.
There was a day I didn’t care, what others thought of me.
Prance around in seaside towns, anyone could see.
I’d wear very little on the pier, with arms raised on the slide.
I really made the most of it and went on every ride.
Ice cream dripping down me and lollies in my hair.
Fish and chips in paper, renting old deckchairs.
Sand in all the crevices, pebbles with a hole.
Lemonade and shandy and watching big waves roll.
Remembering those carefree days of fun upon the shore
I doubt they’ll come again somehow, I won’t see anymore
But my skin is tanning nicely and that’s enough for me
Even bits I cover up so no one else can see

Certainly a rare thing, hope you are enjoying these soaring temperatures, however brief. I love the coast, enjoyed the tribute.
