Mellowing

Age mellows us,

we deepen in understanding,

and yet become childlike with our cares.

Touch tells us,

of a range of wide emotions,

teaching us to keep our hearts prepared.

Nature reminds us

to take our opportunities,

before we make that final trek upstairs.
