Wolf

I heard a growl behind me,

a low yet silent growl.

It wasn’t really threatening,

but gentler somehow.

It spoke to me of it’s power,

also it told of it’s care.

I didn’t look behind me,

as I knew it wasn’t there.

Somewhere deep inside me,

I heard that gentle growl.

An animal that walks with me,

I’m not sure of how.

To remind me of the primitive,

lost deep inside of me.

A natural call to wake me up,

to try and help me see.

I’ll make sure I feed it now,

it’s awakened a lost call.

Of a wolf that lives inside of me,

so I am not so small.
